Getting to Know the Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering (TKRO) Major Automotive Light Vehicle Engineering (TKRO) is a specialized field of automotive engineering that specifically studies the maintenance, repair, and damage analysis of light vehicles (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles). This major no longer deals solely with conventional oils and engines. In the modern era, TKRO students are being trained to become tech-savvy technicians capable of operating digital measuring instruments, understanding computerized electrical systems (such as EFI/Injection systems), and even diagnosing damage using automotive scanners. What Competencies Are Studied? Students majoring in TKRO will receive a combination of fundamental theory and intensive practice in the school's workshop. The following are the main pillars of material mastered by TKRO students: Light Vehicle Engine Maintenance (Engine System) Performing tune-ups on conventional engines and fuel injection (EFI) systems. Learning how gasoline and diesel engines work. Overhauling major engine components to repair major damage. Chassis and Power Train Maintenance Maintaining and repairing clutch systems, transmissions (manual and automatic), and differentials. Managing braking systems (including ABS), steering, and vehicle suspension. Performing wheel alignment and balancing. Vehicle Electrical Maintenance (Electrical System) Understanding vehicle wiring diagrams. Maintaining and repairing body electrical systems (lights, horn, wipers). Managing starter systems, battery charging systems, and ignition systems. Repairing and maintaining car air conditioning (AC) systems. Computerized Engine Diagnosis and Management Using emission test equipment and an engine scanner to read fault codes on the ECU (Engine Control Unit) of modern cars.

Getting to Know the Automotive Body Engineering (TBO) Major Automotive Body Engineering (TBO) is a field of study that combines mechanical engineering skills with an artistic spirit. While mechanical engineering focuses on engine performance, enabling vehicles to drive, the TBO major focuses on the aesthetics, aerodynamics, and safety of the vehicle's exterior structure (body). This major is crucial in the automotive world because every car that has been involved in an accident, suffered a dent, scratch, or simply needed to have its color modified requires the expertise of an automotive body expert. In this major, students are taught how to restore a damaged car body to its factory-fresh condition. What Competencies Are Studied? Students majoring in Automotive Body Engineering will spend significant time in the school's body repair workshop, mastering repair and finishing techniques. The following are the core materials studied: Welding and Metal Cutting Techniques (Welding & Cutting) Mastering various safe welding techniques for car body plates (such as carbide/oxy-acetylene welding, MIG/MAG welding, and spot welding). Cutting, shaping, and joining vehicle body panels. Panel and Chassis Repair (Panel Beating & Chassis Alignment) Repairing minor damage such as dents without damaging the paint using Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) techniques. Performing panel knocking, body repairs after major collisions, and even pulling the chassis for precision (chassis alignment). Repairing and molding fiberglass or plastic components (such as bumpers). Painting and Finishing (Painting & Refinishing) Learning the stages of surface preparation: sanding, filling, and applying epoxy primer. Mixing and matching paint colors (color mixing/matching). Correct painting (spraying) techniques in a spray booth, including clear coat application for a glossy finish. Exterior, Interior, and Glass Maintenance (Auto Detailing) Polishing and applying protective paint coatings. Car interior maintenance and cleaning. Removal and installation techniques for car windows, lights, hydraulic/mechanical door systems, power windows, and other body accessories.

This major is designed to produce technicians who are not only skilled in dismantling and repairing motorcycles, but also possess a keen understanding of developments in two-wheeled automotive technology and the fundamentals of workshop management. The massive motorcycle population in Indonesia makes this field a highly sought-after field of expertise. With the advancement of technology, TBSM students learn not only about carburetors and two-stroke engines, but also focus on injection technology (PGM-FI, YMJET-FI, etc.), intelligent braking systems (ABS/CBS), smart key systems, and even a basic introduction to electric motorcycles (EVs). What Competencies Are Studied? TBSM students receive intensive theoretical and practical training in the school's workshop. The following are the main pillars of material they will master: Motorcycle Engine Maintenance Performing regular maintenance (tune-ups) on underbone, sport, and automatic motorcycles (scooters). Dismantle, analyze damage, and reassemble major engine components (overhaul). Maintain and repair manual and automatic transmission (CVT) systems on automatic motorcycles. Motorcycle Electrical Maintenance Understand electrical diagrams, ignition systems, battery charging systems, and starter systems. Maintain body electrical components such as lights, horns, and digital instrument panels. Diagnose fuel injection system failures using scanners (FID/HIDS/Scanner) to read sensors on modern motorcycles.
